Shipping containers are starting to conquer the urban environment. Containers? That’s right, we are talking about those hulking steel and sheet metal contraptions that have “made the world smaller and the world economy bigger,” according to author Marc Levison. And while their main domain remains the sea – to ship goods across the oceans for nearly seamless transport and expanding world trade – they have also started popping up as an edgy alternative to traditional living, sleeping, creative or garden spaces.
